The
Ragdoll has an exceptionally gentle well-balanced temperament. Being
irresistibly huggable with a sweet natured personality they are
best known for having the unique characteristic of going limp in
your arms when you pick them up, as if they were a rag doll, hence
the name. Their meow is quiet, almost like a cooing or soft chirping
sound and their plush coat is silky and non-matting with a fluffy
tail. They hardly even shed which makes them compatible with cat
lovers who may have allergies to other breeds. Ragdolls love to
play, are very intelligent, can be leash trained and even love to
ride in your car. They want to be where you are and follow you everywhere.
Loyally they will greet you at the door when you come home and trustingly
love to sleep on their backs with their legs flopped to their sides,
just like a rag doll. They are generally not destructive at home
because they are very calm cats and usually prefer the floor level
as apposed to climbing. Like big fluffy teddy bears or better known
as "puppy cats", they can get to be very large up to 16-18 pounds
with the females weighing in about 5 pounds less. They come in various
colors and patterns: Seal, Blue, Red, Cream, Colorpoint, Bicolor
Mitted and Lynx with point colors being less solid and more stripy.
They are truly a people cat, for they love to be around you and
